Yesterday was a Zara day, so most of the fit is from there. I just love what they’ve been doing with blazers for the past few years. They make the most of duping blazers from Balmain, Balenciaga, Veronica Beard & The Frankie Shop, and at much lower price points *(although the @frankieshop has great price points also + all the cool girl bags/shoes/eyewear etc. Also, check out @veronicabeard for great sale pricing and forever pieces!).
Before I forget, check out this thrifted bag I snagged 2 weeks ago from @manhattanvintage show from the vendor Daybreak Vintage (@daybreakvintage).
If you love to thrift/vintage shopping (which is most of us), then The Manhattan Vintage Show is for you! This is the cornucopia of thrifting. Before the pandemic, there were a few hundred vendors from all over the country, selling things from last year, to 100 years ago, and everything in between. I went to my first one right around Feb of last year, just before the pandemic hit. Due to Covid, they haven’t presented again, until the weekend before last. There were about one third as many vendors, and you had to pick a specific time slot to attend, as opposed to being able to shop all day as in past years, and masks were mandatory, but it is truly a good time for thrifters and collectors alike. I snagged this bag, and a pair of slingback pumps (also gold, from the 60’s😍😛), 3 chunky, lucite bangles, and 2 gorgeous kimonos, (one of which is ceremonial). Compared to last years haul, I got out pretty much unscathed this year. 😂 Follow them on IG (@thevintageshow).
I know I should be doing lots more hauls on IG & YT, cause I know you love them and so do I, but flipping his house has been zapping my time, energy and bandwidth! 😫🤪 But let me know if you want to see a thrift or a Zara haul. I’ve been shopping a little bit.
A few of you had some questions about the shoes I was wearing, so let me clarify a bit. These blue shoes look like the Manolo Hangisi Pump but they are actually the Manolo BB pump. I do so love the Hangisi pump but I can never find them in the 115 mm heel height in my size.
These tie-dye ones are from at @century21 from 5-6 years ago. If you’re in the market, try Saks Off 5th, I’ve been having a lot of fun there lately, and by fun, you all know what I mean😂
I made a transition a few years back to wearing Louboutin’s less and wearing Manolo’s more often. A few years ago, I was attending a ton of events, and by nights end, I was just so miserable. Please note, this is in no way meant as a judgment about Louboutin‘s, I adore them! I just found them too uncomfortable for me, and therefore increasingly difficult to wear.
I still have several pairs, but my highest heels I’ve since sold or given away.
I still love a good heel though, so my Go-To’s have become the Manolo BB pump. This one is in the 105mm heel height, (like the Hangisi, it comes in various heights). But I’m still on the hunt for a Hangisi in the 115mm heel height, in a color I love *(photo on the right is a Giuseppe Zanotti pump).
Regarding the shoe jewelry, I’ve always been that girl. I’ve been collecting shoe ornaments and accessories for a few years. These are a staple in any wardrobe. The ones in the photo are from Aldo Shoes, but you can get them loads of places, including Amazon. I learned early, that a good piece of shoe jewelry can elevate a shoe from casual to luxe in the blink of an eye. In fact, stylish accessories in general can elevate any outfit. I just created an Amazon Seller page that features shoe ornaments, and a few other luxe accessories with an eye toward upgrading any outfit in an instant.
